About the Course
DESCRIPTION:
Consider it a foundation for the Lightweight Rescue Workshop, a fundamental rope rescue clinic, or just great time on rope learning new things and new ways to do things you already do. This class will build basic skills to make anyone who wants to work hard a solid, safe, and smart member of a technical rescue or SAR team. Class size is limited to maintain a highly individualized lesson plan and lots of on-rope time for all participants. Personal rope skills and personal mobility are the key to safe, efficient, and expedient rope rescue. Come learn it here! Harness (class 2 or 3), helmet, gloves, and appropriate clothing required.
This course covers the JPRs from NFPA 1006, Ch 5, Rope Rescue [2021 ed] and also meets the ASTM F2954 - 19 Standard Guide for Training for Intermediate Rope Rescuer Endorsement.
No on-rope pre-requisites.
GEAR REQUIRED :
Manufactured Class II or III harness
Climbing or Rescue helmet
Gloves
Gear below can be provided if needed:
6 locking 24kN or greater carabiners
Descent control device for 11mm rope
Set of prusiks (prefer sewn)
Hand ascender
